  1. You work hard to obtain a home and yet you still have racist idiots trying to keep you down no matter what. That appraisal valuation was downright criminal.

  2. All these stories about unfair treatment and it’s still happening. People jus don’t Ike black people. We still have to bear the feeling of being unwanted. Sad man. Sad. Then life goes on

  3. While this is one incident, there are many Americans who struggle with the idea that racism exists. This is an example of it. That home, with its curb appeal, open floor plan or whatever its accommodations was the same regardless of who owned it. Either the first appraiser was bad at his/her job or they allowed race to affect their estimating. Viewing some of their appraisals in the neighborhood will determine which is true.

  4. They also discriminate based on your names. I would get a friend to let them into your home. Do not let them see what you look like.

  5. I want a class action lawsuit against banks that use racist appraisers. The goal of the lawsuit wouldn't be monetary awards but through discovery exposing the disparities in appraisals of homes based the race of the homeowners. We could be talking billions of dollars robbed from minority homeowners in the form of appraisals. Banks likewise would be loaning less meaning homeowners end up having to pony up more cash to buy a house. THIS kind of discrimination has generational impact!

  6. Most ETHICAL appraisers simply look at the home address do comparables, examine the condition of the exterior to estimate the condition of the interior. If the home was listed in recent years (past 5), they would use that listing as a baseline for the sq footage, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, extra finished space such as attic or basement or bonus room above garage etc. Age of roof, furnace etc. can be inferred using such a listing. RACE of owner isn't a fact that's relevant or even interesting!

  7. This happens a lot more than you think. They think we know nothing about finances and real estate. I 100% believe their story.
