Steven McCraw, director of Texas DPS, admitted it was the “wrong decision” for officers not to go into the classroom where the suspect was for 35 minutes after a tactical unit arrived.

  1. It is insulting to people with mental illness (of which there are many – and who handle there medical issues) to even assume or suggest or excuse that someone with a mental is theoretically a ticking time bomb waiting to shoot your kids!!! Disgusted by that type of “finger pointing” at “them” and “those”!

No!! There is absolutely NO reason – NONE – that any citizen (whatever age. – especially 18) should know the feeling of “power” of military grade rifles or access to them – in a civilian society! Those aren’t self protection nor hunting weapons … they are appropriately named ASSAULT rifles for a reason! Those are weapons that do what they say they do!

Why does a civilian need to assault other civilians with ASSAULT rifles? It’s not called protection rifles – for a reason!! They’re meant for mass attack!! Sickening these are as readily available as a loaf of bread ….

Do not point finger at mentally challenged people! Unless the politicians who allow ARs on our streets for a dollar worth of donations – they’re mentally challenged!!! Or believe their re-election and private bank accounts are more important than their constituents!! Simple!

  2. The real question now is what are schools and local officials doing right now to protect our children? Or are the sheep saying: “Just lucky it wasn’t us this time.”

Security to protect material things, but nothing for our children.

  3. They took ownership, now how do we stop the bleeding?, how to we stop the hurt? How to we educate our law enforcement? Teachers, staff, children? What's next?

  4. I do support blue but this was probably the most coward excuse in the history of police officers. The victims families should sue the department and the cops along with their commander should all be put on trial.

  5. texas police are afraid to go in for a whole hour when all the kids got slaughter! If teacher had gun with them, what will the out come be?

  6. The timeline after swat team arrived 30 minutes went by and they still heard shots going off in the class room likely the suspect was saving some ammo to shoot at police. He even expected a forced entry but when 30 minutes had passed probably decided to just finish off the kids.
