9. Stuff the 2nd Amendment: it's an anachronism and centuries out of date. Will guns stop modern tanks, missiles or war planes? No. Of all the physical confrontations or arguments that went to court in the USA since 1968 those involving guns used in self-defence were less than one per cent of cases so guns ain't used in self defence. Why arm teachers when armed Texan police don't use their guns to prevent an ongoing massacre?

   Next, USA gun usage statistics are appalling:

   1. With only four per cent of the world’s population the USA has almost half of the world’s registered civilian firearms.

   2. Forty per cent of homes in the USA have a gun and there are now more guns in the USA (400 million) than people (320 million).

   3. The USA is number one in the world in terms of gun deaths of about 40,000 per annum half of which are murders.

   4. The USA has more deaths caused by gun fire than the combined deaths of the next 23 countries ranked highest in the gun death charts.

   5. More USA civilians (1.5 million) have been killed by guns since 1968 than the total number of US soldiers killed in every military conflict since the American War of Independence.

   So what are guns for? Absolutely nothing apart from slaughtering kids or animals or for use in criminal activity. May God bless America, reluctantly including those insane enough to support its gun laws.
