    JEHOVAH is God's name. Further, despite Christendom telling people that Jesus hears prayer, the fact is the Bible tells us unequivocally that Jehovah is the hearer of prayers, but only those who call on him by name.

    (Psalms 17:1) "Hear my plea for justice, O Jehovah; Pay attention to my cry for help; Listen to my prayer spoken without deceit."

    In his famous Sermon on the Mount recorded at Matthew chapter 5 and 6, Jesus said, "You must pray, then, this way: 'Our Father in the heavens, let your name be sanctified. Let your Kingdom come. Let your will take place, as in heaven, also on earth.'" (chapter 6, verses 9 and 10) Then in verse 11, we read, "Give us today our bread for this day;" In other words, more important than our concerns is first acknowledging God's name and the need for it to be made holy, and then to pray for God's Kingdom to come. Why are both so important? Because God's government will solve all problems causing misery and pain.
