  3. Media was quick to point out that Thomas's hospitalization reportedly had "nothing to do with covid-19", after having mentioned that the SCOTUS justice was suffering from "flu-like symptoms." The idea here is to quickly stamp out any notion, before it took a life of its own, that Justice Thomas was in a "serious medical situation" like that often linked to covid-19 — namely, "intensive care unit hospitalization." Still, the Republicans will likely be closely monitoring the situation, which seems to have suddenly presented itself from out of nowhere, given that nobody reportedly knows of any adverse underlying medical condition of the justice.
