The Atlanta metro area is under tornado watch after the storm went through the downtown area and weakened, with no reports of injuries or houses destroyed. A tornado watch has also been issued for north Georgia until 4 p.m.

We got hit pretty hard by a strong thunderstorm. My power almost went out.
Does Georgia get a lot of severe tornadoes? I'm considering moving to the Atlanta suburbs in the next couple years, so any info would be helpful.

I was driving through the downtown area in the middle of the onslaught. Heard the tornado warning and got the update in my phone but the driving was horrible because I couldn’t see anything.
