What is a spun bearing? Can you drive on a spun bearing? You can have a spun rod bearing or a spun crank bearing and when they fail, it sometimes destroys the engine like in our Lemons BMW. In this video I show you how to diagnose a spun bearing and possible causes. We disassembled the entire engine, every single nut and bolt, so you guys can see what causes an engine to throw a connecting rod and fail.

  1. You guys were asking me if there was a way you can guarantee that I see and answer your comments/questions. I asked YouTube if there was a way and they recommended to me that I create a membership which you can sign up for here : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCes1EvRjcKU4sY_UEavndBw/join
I will still be answering 4 hours of comments like I do every day but I get over 2000 comments a day so I cannot answer every single one unfortunately (trust me, I wish I could). I know you see me constantly trying to answer as many as possible and I still answer comments from videos that are 4+yrs old… You guys asked for me to create a way to make sure I see your comment/question and the membership through YouTube is exactly that… also you get a badge next to your name! I made it the lowest price I could as my goal is not to make money but instead provide a way to answer important car questions you may have. Let me know what you think! So far it's working well and I have been able to help answer questions which lead to them fixing their car.

  2. Great video. You did fail to teach people WHY a worn out engine has low oil pressure. The simple answer is that oil pressure is created through the tolerances in an engine.

  3. I'll be the doubter here, I really doubt that bearing failure was caused by wear and tear. I suspect the oil was frothed up either/both by being overfilled, but also because there is absolutely no windage tray in that garbage. That's a lot of crankshaft to have flying around over a puddle of oil. I suspect the same failure will happen if nothing else is changed.

  4. Those pre checked engines with upgraded parts feel way more reliable than the original one, I hope you and your team can make the best out of the next race 🙂

  5. Aren't bearings supposed to spin? 😂😂😂

  6. Great video, I’ve learned a lot!
Still, how is it that the oil pressure from a working pump got lowered at that specific journal? Was the journal inner channel blocked?
