This means that UK and US have renegaded on their part the moment the Russians attacked. History will have to note this betrayal of their obligations (Budapest Memorandum and Security Assurances, 5 Dec 1994, OSCE Conference). Russia may be the aggressor, but UK and the US have betrayed the Ukraine and now pretend to be their best supporters.
