If you want a dedicated number row in the Google Keyboard, you can have one. You’ve just got to dive pretty deep into the settings to do it. And it’s not just on Android 5.0 Lollipop, which means you can do this on the Nexus 6 as well as older phones like the LG G3 or HTC One M8.

  1. I just got a Pixel 3a and initially, I saw the number keyboard inclusion. Since doing my updates to Android 10, it seems to be gone, and none of the videos like yours show display settings like I now have.
I can't get the keyboard back!

  2. i am having a problem. i followed all your steps, but when i open the keyboard, at first it shows just symbols. after i input a character(even a space) does the number system shows us, can you help??

  3. awesome thanks…just got a nexus 6p and was wondering how to add number row since my previous Samsung had Samsung keyboards that had them

  4. Thanks, i am refusing to buy a Nexus 6 just because of the number row, this works, the keyboard is smaller now, but nothing beats the LG Keyboard.

  5. The layout and size is far from ideal. I had a modded Google keyboard that simply added a number row on top of the regular keyboard and it was excellent. I uninstalled it by accident and can't find it back though 🙁

  6. Good video, I'd forgotten about this feature. Works with AOSP as well; Advanced Settings > Custom Input Styles

Long press Enter/Carriage Return for emoji and yes, carriage return works in Hangouts
