Engineers at cyber security firm McAfee say they hacked into the software of the internet-connected Bike+ using a USB drive loaded with malware. In a statement, Peloton says its popular Tread was also affected, but it has “addressed the issue with a mandatory software update.â€ÂÂ

This company can’t catch a break
"any device that connects to the internet: an appliance, a toy." I really feel like a dinosaur. Other than my computer and phone, nothing else in my home connects to the internet. (No, I don't have a tv)
They know where each machine is located so when you get behind on the payments they can come re-po it!!

Such FUD
In our experience Peloton, & John Folley CEO is a creepy lot.
1st A few months ago their poorly engineered tread mills were killing small children and pets. Their initial response was to blame the victims.
Further they launched a counter campaign of lackeys to ruthlessly attack any truth tellers on social media about their junk.
Later only after Peloton & Folety were overwhelmed by the truth tellers en mass, and by regulators, only then they were forced to relent, and to recall, and reengineer much of their junk.
The key point here is had Peloton & Foley not been forced they would still be willingly killing little children and pets & blaming the victims. That is who and What Peloton and John Foley really is about.
So now it is no surprise that their sloppy engineering extended to their software as well.
