Great subject in Chicago. My departed momma, Gracie was from Chicago… during the WW 2 era. She met my Navy dad, Steve …on a blind date in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She was going to college there. They were just kids really. (This news story is illuminating to me as I have a smoky afternoon in southern Colorado today.) I swam in Lake Michigan as a kid with my grandma Katherine… who loved to swim in the murky lake water. I remember the lifeguards sitting in their life guard chairs. The water was not pretty as I recall. But, seriously… during this pandemic, this is a great story. Thanks.
