  1. A career defining moment for both men. Hopefully, a real positive moment for Bryce and a career ending moment for the clown in the robes. Oh the irony that a black man in a position of power would try to silence free speech. If that had happened 30 years ago that principle would not have been black.

  2. There are just three kinds of people. Those who aspire to a worthy life with equal rights, those who support them and those who sabotage them. Imagine, a white principal had silenced a black valedictorian for telling the audience how his academic success went hand in hand with rebutting racial bias and discovering his true potential …

  3. “Mutual and amicable approval was reached on all speeches…” Hmm, seems like this district didn’t bother to ask the student himself if he “amicably” agreed to the approved speech. School administrators ignoring the side of affected individuals seems to be a problem not unique to this particular district, I might add.

  4. It may not seem like it, but this kid "got the principal's goat."
For really annoying your principal on international media, I salute thee! Everyone there will remember it forever! You aced it kiddo!

  5. LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

  6. It's very clear from the video what happened, this school is scarily comfortable silencing the voices of students who did not fit THEIR narrative. If it really was just a "mic issue" then why would the Principal steal the speech? I look forward to the lawsuit.

  7. Funny northerners think they are so progressive but in Florida at my daughter's graduation 3 years ago the valedictorian came out uncensored and celebrated.

  8. Who cares.there the ones making a big deal over who he does. How many strait people go up and talk about there sexual behavior. No one cares, shut up and get on with life.

  9. People you guys better vote these types of people out because they are taking away people's voices who are different from they and you don't intentionally hurt a children .

  10. Salute to you Bryce! LGBT 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ rights are always human rights!!

  11. This is toroly discrimination against LGBTQ + Community and preventi a individuals for his vacic freedom of speech the principle shur be presented how many more kids have to struggle in this school to make some changes in a system the work fro oll no just for a straight peaple.

  12. America is NOT the land of the free.

That Principal violated that young man’s Civil Rights! Time for a lawsuit and freedom from student loans… 😏

  13. Discrimination. They shut off the mike and shooed him away. The guy took the speech. He can't do that!!!! What if the student's speech was about him being proud of being black? Would it have been taken away??? He is himself; a unique creation. LET HIM SPEAK!!!

  14. I am so disappointed in people and how they act sometimes, he was speaking his truth and they tried to silence him about his struggles, I am so glad that they let him carry on with his speech. It was beautiful❤️

  15. I like stories supporting lgbtgia+, however I don't think that's what this was really about. How about: Schools pre-screen student speeches in an attempt to control any possible damage to their reputation (maybe a student recounts a story that reflects poorly on a teacher or the administration). They turned off their mic as soon as they could tell their speech did not match what they had submitted. Maybe this was simply because faculty had no way of knowing what else they were going to say. What's the point of pre-screening a speech, after all, if you don't react when you get the unexpected? Solution: Freedom of speech should extend to students, even though they are but mere– gasp!– children, and public schools should not be able to demand to pre-screen student speeches. If that means students sometimes hurt their school's reputation, so be it. Transparency!
