Violent crimes have been surging in the U.S. since the start of the pandemic. A New York City advocacy group called Man Up is trying to change that trend to make the community safer.

  1. We don't want to think about homework and job promotions though. I think black people need different types of hobbies and career paths that america has a hard time catering to, ones that fit our body types more (because they are different) and our social patterns more. We are trying to integrate an entirely different culture which historically had a different upbringing and hierarchy into a society that comes from a completely different climate and very different technology when first contact was made.

  2. "A violence-free society, a disease-free body, a confusion-free mind, an inhibition-free intellect, a trauma-free memory, and a sorrow-free soul. Let us all work towards making it a reality, and that is what Art of Living is committed to doing." – Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. The Art of Living Foundation invites you to a happier life!

  3. Experts say a low time-to-crime is one of the best indicators that a weapon was purchased specifically to commit a crime, or to be resold to criminals. According to the most recent ATF statistics, released in August, the bureau traced 332,101 guns in 2018. The average time-to-crime (time between when gun was used in a crime and time of purchase) of those weapons was 8.8 years.

The shorter the time to crime, the more likely it was that the seller "knew" the gun being purchased was likely to be used in a crime. If a gun is used in a crime in less than a year, it's unlikely it came from a "legal sale"

18.6 % of the guns used in crimes in NY came in from Ohio within the last year
17.4 % of the guns used in crimes in NY came in from Georgia within the last year
16.2 % of the guns used in crimes in NY came in from Alabama within the last year

Over half (52.2 %) of NY's firearms related crimes were made possible by Ohio, Georgia and Alabama

    Chicago has it worse ….

    – 20.6% of the guns used in a crime in Illinois were legally sold in Alabama within 1 year of purchase.
    – 19.2% of the guns used in a crime in Illinois were legally sold in Missouri within 1 year of purchase.
    – 17.7% of the guns used in a crime in Illinois were legally sold in Indiana within 1 year of purchase.
    – 16.3% of the guns used in a crime in Illinois were legally sold in Iowa within 1 year of purchase.
    – 16.0% of the guns used in a crime in Illinois were legally sold in Georgia within 1 year of purchase.

So exactly what good are gun laws in Chicago when surrounding red states have a thriving cottage industry funneling in 90% of the guns used in crimes committed in Chicago ????

  4. I am from east New York shepherd ave, right next door to Saint Rita's. My grandfather and mother went to Saint Rita's when the area was different. When I was young my mother moved us from the area due to the increase in violence. Glad people care about the community,,,,,, but you need the police to survive. The police do care but they are met with arrogance, violence, and disrespect. If you are a person of authority you deserve that respect, I feel the focus should be on bringing the community together with the police so they could work with each other. Neither side could do it alone. They need to lay waste to gangs by any means necessary so the rest of the community could live in peace ✌

  5. Isn’t it odd that we don’t see those in the middle or upper economic classes, who can pay their bills, feed their children, and are happy with their jobs, out running around shooting people and robbing stores?

Obviously not all people are violent criminals. So why are some people, usually those in the lower economic classes, choosing to resort to violent behavior?

Addressing the problem by throwing more cops on the street is just suppression, not resolution. Any responsible adult would address the root cause of violent behavior, not just suppress it.

  6. I just got rid of my long term Herpes disease. I’ve been diagnosed with the Herpes disease for 3 years, but I was recently cured from it completely!. With the help of Dr IGUDIA on YouTube with his herbal medicine I’m so excited. There’s truly a cure to Herpes Virus. You all can also contact him for help on any kind of disease on his YouTube channel

  7. 👍👍👍👍👍

  8. if y'all were right then their wouldn't be no crime I think the Police are needed because humans no matter what upbringing always can screw ish up

  9. To me is add a bit strange; that this type of program the people advocating against gun violence, choose commoflash clothing to walk the streets? Really!

  10. Let the kids know rapping isn’t the only way out, they can be anything, they need to see more of those people that made it out without rapping.

  11. Shout out to George Floyd on fourteen months of sobriety. It took some tough love but he did it. Say his name liberals🖕

  12. Too late. Too many guns in the streets. My neighbor has two teenagers boys 14 and 15 each with 10 friends each.. Them and their friends are a nightmare. No father. Moms works 3 jobs. Boys up all night with their friends smoking weed in the hallways making rap videos. Police have been called numerous times. It's like a game to these kids. They don't give af.

  13. Keep doing what you're doing, brotherS. They want to see our young people confused and misguided. We have to lead them, so they can lead us. Our ancestors were very successful business-oriented people. The demons took that, our people haven't been the same since. It's time, WE CAN DO THIS!
