Check out Kalvinator Engines: http://www.kalvinatorengines.com
When I went looking for a machine shop I reached out to someone I felt would be an expert on this topic, Doug Kaufman who happens to work for Engine Builder magazine.
I figured he would be a good person to ask. Well, I was right. Kevin Frische at Kalvinator Engines was at the top of his list. Lucky for me, Kevin is just 3 hours north of me in Wapakoneta OH. Honestly, after seeing the work he’s done, I’d have driven farther.
Cameraman Brian and I spent 2 days with Kevin and his son Justin in the machine shop to shoot this series of videos. If it were up to me, I’d quite working as ETCG and go to work for Kevin in his shop. I LOVED being there. It’s like a playground inside of Santa’s workshop. I will be going back to get more work done. Trust me on that.

Shout out to Kevin and Justin. Thanks Eric for seeing true quality.
typo in your description quite should be quit
eh!
Careful Eric! theres already a turbo yoda out there!!
I had the pleasure of meeting Kevin, his wife, and Justin at the ETCG meetup. Great down to earth family that seem very passionate about their work.
Hello Eric, a bit off this topic, can a bad pcv make a whistle sound? Mine is whistling at this point.
These guys must be Mechanical Yoda's then, because Mighty Car Mods have Turbo Yoda and Mechanical Stig.
Can you build a high mpg engine?
Can you build a high mph engine?
Seem like great guys. This is going to be a great series. Thanks for posting
The older guy sounds like John Goodman!!!! hahaha
so, can I intern there?
It's good to see experts doing what they love.
You can see that Eric was confused when Kevin said Kelvinator or Kalvinator owned Jeep in 1979. AMC owned the Jeep name from 1970 to 1988. AMC sold its Kelvinator (spelled with an "e") division in 1968. Kelvinator was most know for its kitchen appliances. So, again, why did they name this engine building company Kalvinator???
man eric i wish i knew you was at kalvinator engines @ wapak , i live in spencerville 20 minutes from wapak , would have liked to have met you ,,
Some say he was born in a machine shop and that he always presses the bearing in on the first try. All we know is… he is not Turbo Yoda! He is Turbo Yoda's American cousin!
Making me want to send my engine there from ct. Ej255s kinda suck. Minus the performance aspect.
Thanks Kalvinator Engines!
Really looking forward to the engine series.
uuugh! the suspense is unbearable.
