Temperatures soared to 116 degrees in Portland during the deadly Pacific Northwest heat wave this summer. One report found most of the deaths were people alone at home “with no working air conditioning or fans.†The federal government and most states have no mandates for cooling devices. Push For Mandates On Air Conditioning After Extreme Heat Wave Deaths
I have a large square fan. Have had it for more than 25 years. As soon as it starts cooling down in the evening, the fan goes in the window against the screen. Then the window is shut up against the fan. Then I turn that 'puppy' on high all night. In the city, one would need to have a broomstick or something to go against the window so no one could open the window. That way you would be safe. My place has old wiring so fan it is.
We gotta look out for one another…..no one should have to experience that.
It's illegal to leave a kid in a hot car.
Daycare facilities, and office spaces are required to shut down at temperatures over 80. Habitability laws need to change, and ac installation permit process should be streamlined. Untill yesterday my new rental hasn't dropped below 78 for three months.
AFGANISTAN = $2.26 TRILLION TO MAKE PPL HOMELESS… USA = Sry $200 for A/c units TOO EXPENSIVE.
So much for the grest America……. its a humph….
Government has failed and will always there will be no AC unless we as a people can support our loved ones and families ourselves
this camera work is gold.
Lol, right. Carbon emissions lead to extreme heat waves. The solution, burn more carbon emissions to cools us down. Maybe we (as in everyone) should reduce carbon emissions and make big companies who pollute our air and water accountable for the world they created? Fund renewable technology.
Why didn't Shane take care of his mother?
Refrigerants are some of the most potent greenhouse gasses. Them leaking and the energy needed to compress are causing the climate to warm. What we are doing is only making things worse.
over 700 died in Chicago back in 1995. nothing changes as government doesn't care about human life.
Unbridled capitalism is sick and disgusting. Soon it will all be DISMANTLED😆THE GOD is disgusted with us all.
Ewww what is that red thing?
The reason I right now don't have my air-conditioned unit i bought is because land lords charge extra just for 2 months 200$ mind you the aire condition you buy cost150 i got me two fans and thankfully its not gotten to bad here last year was some whole diffrent story couldnt be in room was like a hot box cooking me alive
Don't forget heating for Texas as this year people died in the freeze storm!.
In Florida
All a rental needs is heat
A/C is a luxury
That’s horrible. But seriously, at what point do people need to take responsibility for themselves to not die? I know the grammar is off but still.
God ain't playing!
yea it got up to 87!! this summer here. We don't use A/C, just open the doors and windows. Ceiling fans mo betta. Free solar powered.
Wasn’t there a stimulus check
