We did nothing following South Vietnamese president Ngo Dinh Diem preventing his country's 1956 election under Eisenhower, we did nothing following the assassination of Diem and screwed up how we went into Vietnam under Kennedy, we screwed up our stay in Vietnam under LBJ (with 1968 being the worst year for the war in Vietnam and the US in general,) we screwed up our plan to leave Vietnam under Nixon (even though he kept his word and brought our troops home from Vietnam) and we screwed up our withdrawal from Vietnam under Ford. Likewise; we screwed up how we went into Afghanistan under Bush forty-three, we screwed up our stay in Afghanistan under Obama, we screwed up our plan to leave Afghanistan under Trump and we screwed up our withdrawal from Afghanistan under Biden.

29. It might look the same but it’s not comparable between Vietnam and Afgan. Vietnamese who fled the country were those supported allies of American military and of course who didn’t want to live in a developed nation like America when they could. Vietnamese lived in peace till the French, Americans n Japanese came and took our resources. We fought for our freedom and we didn’t have such thing like Taliban. I can understand it’s humanity to welcome refugees but if America’s mission is to save all miserable lives what about Haiti and many other countries struggling? There are always reasons after fights and war and politics play the finger pointing game. Communism was a threat so America had to stop it. Now look at Vietnam is thriving. I don’t want to comment about Afgan. Just make a point that people please don’t refer to Vietnam war. It’s a different side of story.
