Former FDNY Chief Joseph Pfeifer was on a routine run in lower Manhattan when he saw a plane aim and crash into the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001. Pfeifer was initially in charge at the scene and made critical decisions that likely saved thousands of lives.

Hero
Kevin rip angel and all the Angels that day 💜💜💜💜
I live in Eastern Ontario and our current fire chief in the town of Smith's Falls headed to New York when he heard the news. He was there for a week helping out. In addition the American Express building across the street was very badly damaged. I think only a couple of weeks before Amex had sent 11 of their employees over to work onsite at the twin towers. All 11 were lost and you can see a memorial to them in the lobby of the Amex building…the fountain of tears.
I always love to see Chief Pfeifer
I'm always crying when he is talking about his brother. I can't imagine being at his place, looking for the last time in the hall of the tower at my brother and having this moment as the last memory of him…
Great Man, a Legend!ðŸ‘ÂÂðŸ‘ÂÂ- he lost his own brother in the Tower, R.I.PðŸ™ÂÂ
What a legend
This man made some of the toughest decisions any leader has had to make, he did it with dignity, calm and moral courage seldom seen. All under the gaze of the world.
Remembering FDNY FF Gregory Sikorski
Sad that hard-working, blue collar first responders gave their lives to rescue finance bros
We visited Engine 7 ladder 1 at september 12th 2011. Ten years after 9/11. A friendly firefighter aloud us to see the building and the trucks. It was one of the Highlights for us this week.
A true hero indeed. RIP to all who’ve passed and prayers to anyone who has lost a loved one.
💙💙💙💙
Guys, I remember, I was horrified too .. and when I listened to the voices of people and watched the details, tears flowed from my eyes .. Sincere condolences to the families of the dead people .. Kingdom of Heaven for lost people, rest their souls, their eternal memory .. My condolences .. Best regards from Russia.
I bought Chief Pfeifer’s book (released sept 7) after recently watching the Naudet Brothers documentary he’s featured in. I can only imagine how painful it is for 9/11 survivors to recount their experience. They are all strong, amazing humans. â¤ï¸ÂÂ
2# Part I Like To Say Something About What Happen On
September 11, 2001 .
I Like To Say That America Should Have Never Drop It's Guard Down. And America Should Have Always Been Very Vigilant At All Times Especially When It Comes To The People From The Middle East . America Should Have Always Kept A Close Eye On Those People From The Middle East And Why Do I Say This Well Because This Is What Happens When America Drops It's Guard Down And That's Where The Terrorist Takes The Advantage Of Carrying Out Their Terrorist Attack Plot . America Should Have Tighten The Homeland Security At Every Airports Around America Might Of Have Prevented Those Terrorist Attacks On American Ground.
And America Should Have Kept A Close Eye On Those Middle Eastern People That Were Entering The U.S. .
I Like To Say Something You Are Always Been A Hero Of New York And You Will Be Always Remember For Your Bravery And Courage .
So hard to live with the fact that you have to leave the burning building… Probably the hardest decision for any fire/police captain to make
How are there 11 people who disliked this? This man's a hero dammit.
Foleys 2 irish guys FDNY
I was almost 3 when 9/11 happened. my dad was teaching in New York city (which was a 2.5 hour commute) and my mom was doing her morning routine. John the bug man (as we called him)came and said have you heard the twin towers have been hit. well because i was so small mom never put on the radio or tv but she did email my dad and they emailed until the Internet went down he was on the LAST train out then my dads sister called and other family called to see how my dad was he came home. later he said that if he needed to he would have walked from NYC to my grandmas house in westchester county NY .according to my mom a few days later i was getting occupational therapy and the therapist stacks up two block towers and told me to knock it down and i told her NO. another thing that happened was there was a rain storm and moms little garden was covered with the ash of 9/11, this cloud made it as far as new England. the garden has since prospered thanks to the ash
Meanwhile the mastermind of this attack was having biryani and was watching whole scene on Pakistani television with Pakistani army chief. It's CIA failure to understand Pakistan.
This Guy was the first captain who entered wtc and the last to retire
So sorry for all lost this day. All of you are true brave people.
Well today is 9/11's 20th anniversary. R.I.P to the people who died and saved people's lives that day. There were so many heroes that day trying to save so many people that were in that situation about to die. And there were police officers, fire fighters and nurses who were trying to risk their lives trying to save those people from death. So I am here to say today is the 20th anniversary of the day police officers, fire fighters, and nurses became heroes
I'm watching from Pasadena the Presidents (all Democrats) walk out early during the ceremony… Tell me about heartless and dubious.
