Engine failure it suffered 4 simultaneous break down
So it wasn't a reality show.
Obviously it's not women and children first these days to get rescued/air lifted. I heard that they the injured had priority but then what was the procedure for who got airlifted. Possibly by muster station which makes me wonder if you are better off going to a muster station where the first class passengers are.

Engine failure was caused by the engines not receiving a sufficient amount of lubricating oil…..and shutting down subsequently. The crew needed to monitor the oil levels more carefully as the ship moved through the high waves that caused severe rocking in the area. I recall this happening to a Carnival cruise ship several years ago where the engines shut down due to lack of lubrication. The question then becomes…why weren't the ships' stabilizers deployed to minimize the wave action. Most ships have these unless Viking cut corners and did not equip the "Star" with them.
