Video shows man putting knee on student’s chest to restrain her

1. For everyone saying. What happened before. WTF does it matter. He's a grown as man. A coach. He's physically stronger than her. She 14 years old , not 21/18. Why would you tell a little girl "I'm gonna knock you out". If that had been a little 14 year old white girl No one would care what happened beforehand and would want him in handcuffs.

11. That is not how manual restraints are legally done. Both of those men are just freestyling for kicks. Physical restraint training does not allow chest compression and limb pulling. Either those men are not trained or have completely disregarded their training. They deserve to be fired and banned from working with minors.

19. Some kids are crazy but there is a way to handle children and a way not to. A knee in the chest could have crushed her growing rib cage and you won't really know the damage until a few days later. She should have a xray done ASAP. The proper restraint is to cuff hands not knee in the chest and drag by the leg. They also need to invest in straight jackets and downer shots. Have only the nurse able to administer while student is being properly restrained. Kids want to act crazy…. well give them the crazy person treatment. All that fighting, we have seen, can turn leathal.

    The school I work at, this week had a mini lockdown, a 7yo had a peice of wood studded with nails that he threatened students and staff with. I have no idea how the staff ended the incident, but if it were videotaped would it look like this vid too?
    Perspective and the safety of others might play a big role in the actions of this coach.

32. Yesterday, ABC was blaming a school / teacher for not stopping a fight (when the girl died) … Today, they are blaming the school / teacher FOR stopping a fight. In both cases, ABC was completely WRONG.

36. Every school district should have mandatory Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training. There was a MUCH SAFER way to restrain her. There are so many serious injuries and deaths that have occurred because an adult did not properly restrain a child. Please research it. Also, I have had my physical well being in danger from more than of my students and I have NEVER put my knee on their chests not have I ever drug them by their feet. There is no excuse for that. Whatever she did before this, this was NOT the proper or SAFE way to touch someone, especially a child.

45. so we just went through this yesterday where the school was getting blamed for a kid fight ending in death. Shame was brought down on the school for inaction, now you over react to what the parents should be doing to their kids. And you wonder why news outlets are a thing of the past?
