7. I used to live in Seattle and Virginia Beach . I must say Washington is a beautiful place but like you said the housing is way over priced.

9. Seattle has soooo many good restaurants it is too bad you didnt have a good experience, but ya know some most expensive places don't have the best food usually the hole in the wall has best food. 12. I was born in Seattle, Washington in 1966 only to leave in 1970 to live in San Diego, California. Next year, it will be 50 years since I've been to my home town. I am determined to get back to Seattle in 2020. I'm glad you and your wife had a great time. It's a beautiful city, except for the darn rain.

    The rent is too damn high. thats true. Techbros have driven it right up. But that is the core of seattle. Get outside that and the cost drops fast. Other commenters saying they cant live on 100k plus – shitty at managing money.

    Sushi? Seattle has never really been known for sushi. Im not surprised you were disappointed. And downtown its all fronting anyways. As you found when you encountered the hipster bartender. Head over to the International District for some fine asian foods, for example. . Really the downtown core isnt for dining anymore. Its a pit stop for the folks coming in and out on their way to work.

    You got took by the CD guy! My son and I were down by the convention center. He got his first lesson about the street hustle. The CD gets stuck in his hand. Boy says "thank you" and starts walking. CD Guy was "awww naaaww" and put the bite on him. Son says "Oh. no Im not interested in buying" CD gets seagull snatched out of his hands. "You see son. Nothing is offered up for free on the street. someone is always getting paid. Always look for who and how they are getting paid.

    Im glad you had a good time. I hope you drop by again sometime. ANd hopefully you get a chance to travel internationally.
