9. The elite aren't worried a bit. Humans are to leaders, colonizers and bankers, what mice are to people. Dead humans help with population control and alive, whole or parted out are worth a ton of cash and when all else fails, the adrenechrome in our blood makes a lovely elixer for maintaining a youthful vibrant energy.
