The LG G5 will almost certainly be one of the best android smartphones of 2016. Forget what you think you knew; the LG G5 is a metal smartphone with a gorgeous display, killer smartphone cameras â€â€Â three of them! â€â€Â and, yes, a modular design that lets you add to what already is a really good smartphone. Here’s our first look from Mobile World Congress!

im getting a 2tb storage upgrade next month from my service provider.
idk if its a module upgrade or an sd card but thats awesome
Good review of the camera, and the camera, and the camera. How about text input?
Great phone.. I enjoy it's unique design. It's, different. I appreciate LG going for it. I'll be pre ordering.
Hello just a question if you just have the module with the battery connected to it and then plug a power cable to the module will the battery start charging without being connected to the phone like an external battery charger but from your module??
I know that maybe 1% of potential buyers will even consider investing in the addons. My friend's brother who is not a phone nerd by any means saw the DAC attachment and immediately told me he may upgrade to this just because of that option. He is an audio producer and this would step up his phone to a higher standard when needed.
UGLY AS SHIT
I must admit, its not the most attractive looking phone but with the software, ram, pixels, the screensize etc.. id spend my money on it and i only purchase sony and samsung phones i dont normally make a switch between phones lol
no pressure, Apple
The modules is a cool idea. Will this be the next thing? I personally hope not
i'm so annoyed to see all these reviewers pull out the battery without turning off the phone correctly. UGH
don't blame LG for removing the app drawer, it's Google's plan.
I give LG credit for thinking out the box but this just doesn't fit the G series mode. I think they should have went with the same design philosophy as the previous on this G5 and come up with a new line for this, something else like LG M (mod) series.
You guys need to step up the audio/image quality game.. Love the content but it´s just so far away quality wise. The audio quality is way beyond sub par on the podcasts.
i think it looks alot better
The modular base is the only reason I would get this phone. If you don't like the lg home then just install a 3rd party launcher.
I like the design, and those modules are interesting. Wish it had stock android though. They should do like Motorola, use stock android and add a couple of separate LG apps. At least there's more than the 32GB option (what's up with that Samsung?)
No app drawer? An app to view recently uninstalled apps, why?
Really liked the module concept, finally someone did some thing other than bumping up the specs…….
Fucking ugly..
Where is the ir blaster?
No app draw plus ugly.. Bye
As said a million times this looks awful but amazing at the same time. I mean I'm not all about premium design, but i certainly would've liked to see something better than that. I'd definitely want it in black. It doesn't make me feel to bad about my g3 anyway. LOOKS ASIDE THOUGH,I'm so glad somebody decided to embrace the modular idea. I just hope it works out, cause as amazed as I am I think I'm to lazy to buy anything but the phone. I can't even force myself to buy a phone case.
So when you drop your phone & break the mechanism that holds the bottom on, what then?
Oh crap I was completely sold with this then I heard it has no app drawer… why lg why?
There are reports that the stock launcher with Android N will also have no app drawer.
From the back it looks meh but doesn't look bad in person it seems.
Don't use this design language on the V10 successor.
