A look at the pressures that face jurors, with focus on the trial of the youths accused on injuring Reginald Denny during the LA riots. The jury in that case had to grapple with the fear of inciting another riot if it came back with the “wrong” verdict.

Kicked in the head, oxygen tank broken over the head, a hammer to the head & a brick to the head shows intent to kill ~ ALL SHOULD HAVE BEEN GIVEN LIFE WITHOUT PAROLE!!
I still don't get it. I can help my Dog out of life ending pain, but not my grandma….
The fact that Denny can forgive is huge…
When throwing a brick at a head it's to kill …
Today, this would have been on hundreds of cell phone videos and plastered all over social media.
Wouldn’t a hammer, brick or oxygen tank actually show intent? If one didn’t want to intend to harm someone wouldn’t they use a fly swatter, wet noodle or a bouncy ball?
They are all guilty
I watched the Denny attack live on t.v. and it broke me. I was sobbing. If that were an isolated attack, there's no way those guys would have got off the way they did. As far as assisted suicide, I've made it clear to my kids that if I end up in a horrible situation, they are to get me to a State where euthanasia is legal and get it over with. That is my choice for how I want things to end; on my terms.
If it was a white man hurting a black man they wouldn't make this much fuss
But somehow this wouldn’t be called racism….
🤦ðŸÂ¼â€ÂÂ♀ï¸ÂÂ🤆really
Blame the police they started it.
Many blacks complained
Yea I bets theys dids
Across da skreet gettin some skrimps at da stow
Would you be comfortable knowing a ditz like Christine Herman was on the jury that was to decide your innocence or guilt? Or Jerome Culliver?🥺
This kid, because he smiled, immediately became a good person that just had a lapse in judgment. I've seen pictures of Idi Amin and Ted Bundy smiling too. I hope my fate never rests in the hands of 12 dipshits.
If it is a crime to lie in the witness stand it should be to lie in jury box as well
The lady seems to be blaming something other than her own lack of a backbone! she was trusted with doing the right thing, failed to do so twice and is not taking responsibility for her ow thing. bizarre
The Denny video still bothers me to this day. And the fact that none of those thugs who tried to kill him on national television are serving a life sentence really makes me mad.
Wtf is wrong with people how hard is it to be a decent human being regardless of skin color smdh
I lived in Southern CA during this time and watched it all unfold live. So sad.
Amazing that Denny  forgiving his attackers and even hugging the mother of one  proved he was of a greater humanity than the thugs who viciously attacked him, never apologized, showed zero remorse and reflected the worst of humanity. How utterly disgusting that these POSs got so little time
I feel nothing for Reginald Denny
Rodney King walks away with 5.5 mill not to mention later on had 1 hit and run case, 1 speeding and running a red light DUI!
Second Case:
Kevorkian's attorney, Geoffrey Fieger (27:35), is brother to the late Doug Fieger of The Knack, (think "My Sharona").
Third Case:
I have little to add, except to say that I found this case and its dilemma quite interesting.
