Here is the full version of #DarkMatterPikachu on the dyno. If you want to skip to the good part, here’s the video.

Special thanks to UNOH: http://www.unoh.edu

Also thanks to Kevin Frische and Nate Mailhot.

As you can see, things didn’t quite go as planned. It seems to be the way with this engine. It fought us at every turn it seems. However, at the end of the day, this is one heck of an engine. Had we had the entire day to play with the tuning, I’m sure we could have gotten even better numbers.

No worries because once I finish the car I plan to go back and put it on their chassis dyno to see what kind of power it makes at the wheels. We should have plenty of time to dial in the max power of this set up.

So kick back and watch us struggle as we try to make this engine produce some power on the dyno.

The final #’s: 574.7hp @5500 622.8lbft @4400 7.8psi boost

  1. I'm not a turbo guy but iv always wondered about how those top hats affect the carb.dont think carbs are designed for boosting.Blowers much different, fuel in then boost

  2. Another thing a dyno shop will do you make it look like they just built you the biggest baddest engine is to increase atmospheric pressure and sea level conditions. by not installing those proper numbers that also gives huge gains on dyno numbers. I also had my 363 dyno on the exact machine from two different shops local to me and because the first guy used Colorado type atmosphere my engine was showing 65hp more than true numbers. Which was literally a 10% gain like your guy is telling you.

  3. Why did the engine take several seconds to rev up after the control stick was pushed all the way forward? It appeared that it was stalling and after a few seconds it would start to go to gain higher rpms.

  4. I had same problem with my chevy 383 with a demon 750cfm double pumper very difficult to make it work right so I just replaced it with an edelbrock 750cfm man it fixed the problem and ran fabulous

  5. The skinny guy kind is like a different version of Mike Finnegan. I feel a lot better after watching this video, I have run into some problems with my engine and I will get it figured out by trying and error, just like they did. The only difference is that I am kind if clueless. Great video.

  6. I enjoyed the video thank you very much for showing the whole thing it was nice to see how you we're troubleshooting the engine trying to dial it in thanks again

  7. Real world problems, real world solutions, not the sugar coated, everything goes right the first time bs seen on the tele.
