Track getting TORN DOWN after this CRAZY race event!

1. That convertible 8s Merc with the Lady was the ultimate sleeper combo. That was awesome. Hope we gonna see more of her!

3. There's so many sad people here with such great memories. it seems wrong to lose something so special.

4. I live in a small town you've visited before for Anarchy No Prep (Union Grove, WI; Great Lakes Dragaway) and it is a constant battle of the village vs the track. The track is redoing the entire drag strip in the off-season this year, but also the village has been going CRAZY with housing additions, many very close to the strip. I'm doing what I can to support the track and hope it lives on here for many more years to come, but there is certainly an ominous cloud developing.

   The same ppl that complain about the noise and the jet cars, in particular, have never even been there to experience it despite many living here for their entire lives (and they aren't young). shame.

11. Milan Dragway here in Michigan was also put up for sale earlier this year after it didn't open for the summer. Last I heard it was possible sold and we will have to wait to see if it reopens as a running dragstrip in the future. Sucks we are losing all these nostalgic sanctioned tracks from the early days of drag racing.

28. I wonder what the reason is for the track shutting down. Noise complaints from neighbors? Operating costs too high? Either way, its sad the number of tracks shutting down every year. If you still have a local Dragstrip, support the shit out of it before its too late.

29. Every time a drag strip is leveled, street racing grows. Typical reverse/ adverse reaction.
