This doesn't surprise me. Most of us knew this was going to happen years ago. First it was Confederate statues, then Columbus and now Jefferson statues. Next will be Washington and Lincoln. They wont stop until every statue is down. The inevitable decline of the United States is well underway, has been for decades. Were now seeing the actions & consequences of two generations of indoctrinated folks ripping down everything. Since no one is perfect and if society wishes and continues to look at the bad in someone then the obvious solution is to pull down every statue in the U.S. No one is off limits anymore, MLK statues must come down, George Floyd statues must come down too, Obama statues as well. Two can play that game, they're imperfect people too. This won't end and is just the beginning. Theres simply no pleasing anarchists and revisionists.

We, therefore, the Representatives of the united States of America, in General Congress, Assembled, appealing to the Supreme Judge of the world for the rectitude of our intentions, do, in the Name, and by Authority of the good People of these Colonies, solemnly publish and declare, That these United Colonies are, and of Right ought to be Free and Independent States; that they are Absolved from all Allegiance to the British Crown, and that all political connection between them and the State of Great Britain, is and ought to be totally dissolved; and that as Free and Independent States, they have full Power to levy War, conclude Peace, contract Alliances, establish Commerce, and to do all other Acts and Things which Independent States may of right do. Tyranny
First off, the nepotism is disgusting.
Second, people don't hold certain founders in reverance because they owned slaves. Most if not all Americans know that many founders owned slaves and see the cruel irony that the producers of the Declaration and Constitution did not live up to the ideals and principles of those documents they wrote. We as an extremely diverse nation, with not much in common outside a shared belief in the Declaration and Constitution, honor the founding fathers for producing the documents and government which make it possible to correct past wrongs and create a more perfect union.
Third, I will never vote for a Republican candidate but at the same time, I will only vote for independents, when they run, because I will no longer support a Democratic Party consumed with identity politics.
