  1. They call it the "Fireman's Carry"
    Not the "Fire Lady's Carry"
I remember when Women's Liberation started in the early 1970's.
I want women to be liberated.
They could be engineers, lawyers, doctors.

  2. Honestly one of the WORST stories regarding Female FireFighters I have EVER heard. Then insult to injury, you put Gruesome on the report who cut FireFighter wages – said he would take the cut in pay to, however – HE FORGOT – USFS & California Politics regarding Federal lands is part of the reason California Fire Season never ends.
Keep in mind these are Wildland Forest Managers NOT Structure FireFighter.
This news story is an insult, then add in the undereducated comments 🙄

  3. It’s a shame all these comments talk about the burning building scenario & how a smaller woman wouldn’t be able to help a person out. Ok, that might be true for most situations. But should that one requirement exclude women from ever doing any kind of fire fighting at all?

  4. I don’t get why women have less physical fitness requirements then male firefighters…. I don’t want a weak woman carrying me out of a burning house when I’m 230+. I’m at more risk with her than on my own’

  5. Only “woman” syndrome?

    Vs

Only “me” feel syndrome “safe space” adapting?
Many perspectives improve our collective reality.

  6. They give special privilages for women to pass the academy. They don't have to have the strength the men do. They weigh down their team.

  7. Yes, because if I'm in a burning building and I'm unable to walk because of injuries or because I've passed out from smoke inhalation I really want to stake my life on some girl smaller than me being my only hope of getting carried out alive. I mean, seriously, that's what EVERYONE is thinking whether they're willing to say it or not. I'm all for female empowerment, I'm a woman, but there are certain jobs meant for 125 lb, 5'2 women and certain jobs for 6'3, 250 lbs of pure muscle men. Fire fighting is the latter and anyone with the reasoning skills of a small child knows it.

  8. From the way I've seen things structured, child birth is a very female dominated field. As a male, I'm offended. Why can't women be happy to be humans NUMBER ONE asset to human life. .. This must be a joke. .. all love

  9. Soooo… Are there lots men in burning houses in National parks? If so their problem isn't whether they can be carried out. Like WTF are they hypothetically doing there in the first place?
I'm proud of these women and inspired by them.

  10. Everyone has a role in society, not because you can it doesn't mean that you should. Women should not be competing with men. Men are built differently and they are way more stronger. A woman is suppose to be the help mate of a man. Her job is to birth kids and cook a good meal after a long day at work. Women can do what men do but there will not be a balance in the family dynamic. The man is the head of the family.
