I’m not saying that it was right for the passenger to hit him – but in general – if you act like this you will eventually get a very bad reaction. He shouldn’t have threatened to end the trip – just completely ignore the passenger until he gets off then report everything that happened (with the cam footage) to Uber. Simple as that. Don’t be going head to head with idiots – you will win stupid prizes
