  1. It makes no sense to recast and reboot. It just comes off as parody and not at all seriously. The originals are there to rewatch with the classic casts.

  2. Woody Harrelson was horribly cast as Archie Bunker. Bill Burr would have been brilliant. The reboot sucked. The only good thing about it was Jennifer Hudson's version of The Jeffersons theme song.

  3. I know I may get a lot of flack for saying this but here I go… This is just my opinion. The actors are all superb but too be honest I would have used this talent and created a new show, something fresh. Not try and redo what has already been done with these shows. All In The Family and The Jeffersons in their time made history you should not try and recreate that magic, I say leave well enough alone and focus on fresh new stuff no rehashing what's already done Come on Hollywood. Even if it's a one-time homage thingy as they say. It seems to me they are testing the waters to see how people will respond before trying to go in and milk this thing, again just my opinion.

  4. I missed this when it was originally broadcast but was happy that I had the opportunity to watch it by chance while flipping throughout the channels tonight.  Unfortunately I found the "All In The Family" skit almost painful to watch.  The casting was all wrong and I just didn't enjoy it at all.  Jamie Foxx as George Jefferson was one of the saving graces.  The "Jeffersons" was not quite as painful as Marla Gibbs made a cameo which completely saved the skit.  I''ve seen spoofs of "All In The Family" and the "Jeffersons" before and it was way better than this.  They should have taken more time to hire the right people without necessarily focusing hiring celebrities to play the parts.  I was more than a bit disappointed.

  5. Just put on the originals and live with it. It is sad that the people that are playing these parts for tonight's remakes are the same few Hollywood elite racists that would have fought to not air the original shows. I guess money talks and their bullshit walks…. Pretty sad. With the exception of maybe one person Jaimee Foxx. Just saying…

  6. Love woody, but he ain’t no Archie. That’s for sure

  7. One cannot replace ALL IN THE FAMILY!!! The show was one of a kind. Archie & Edith , Mike & Gloria were forever a part of great television. These great actors can not be duplicated.

  8. I accidentally missed this! 🙁 Where can we catch this? I’m so glad that Norman Lear got on board! My biggest concern was.. there’s only one Archie, Edith, and George. Hopefully I’ll catch it when it runs again.. . But I’m pretty sure, it will never be even remotely the same. RIP 70s cast 🦋

  9. Th writing was lame, not updated at all to today's times, lots of old clichés, nothing new in the plot, struggling to be funny.  The acting:  Archie's son looked older than him.  His daughter poorly cast.  Woody looked also miscast, unable to present anything comparable to Carroll O'Connor.  Marisa put in a creditable performance.  Overall I turned it off after 20 minutes.  The whole thing to me seemed a first draft of a sitcom, where the writing and the actors are not in the groove at all.

  10. I! loved! it! What a unique hour in television. To see these two classic sitcoms recreated decades later. The main characters were fantastic! Marisa Tomei, Woody Harrelson, and Jamie Foxx – two thumbs up to you all. Great to see Marla Gibbs too. She was hysterical in the original Jeffersons and showed she can still sling a zinger nowadays, too. Very well done!

  11. Seeing a lot of mixed reactions and after judging myself I say it was not as cringy and bad as I thought though it wasn't exactly the masterpieces of the actual episodes either. But despite how people may feel we gotta be honored that they did this at all. It meant that They had confidence that those shows are still so beloved and that the characters made perfect by Carroll and Jean and Sherman and Isabel and the rest were indelible and iconic enough to tribute to. I'm happy with that more than anything. Having said that I'm good with just this. No reboots, please!
