24. Since this quake and the 7.1 on the 7th took place at the China Lake Navy Weapons Station, between the southern end of the Sierra Nevada Mountains and Death Valley, they were a long way from the metropolitan areas. The miners in Trona and Ridgecrest probably had a really exciting time.
